This video shows a
robot designing a logo for a technology company.
Thare are no sound in the video because i wanted to
show the viewers what the robot is thinking of while
making a logo.
In college, art
professors teach students how to make a logo. There
are standard procedures each student has to go
through in order to make a meaningful logo. These
procedures include: 1. brainstorming facts and
stereotypes about a company. 2. deciding on what
colors to use. 3. designing at least four logo
designs. 4. selecting 1 logo design out of the 4
sketches. 5. making the logo using photo software.
In the video, I show
what the robot is thinking of in every stage of
designing a logo. Personally, the robot uses a
notebook to organize his thoughts and to brainstorm
ideas. He also uses the notebook to do sketches of
possible logo designs. Once the robot has an ideal
image of what the logo looks like, he can go on a
computer and use photo software to make the logo
(using the mental logo as a guide).
Each graphic designer
has his or her way of designing logos. Although there
are no set guidelines to make a logo, knowledge from
art school is very important. Without this knowledge,
the final logo will not have meaning -- people won't
be able to relate the logo with the company.
This video shows that
the robot is able to learn knowledge about graphic
design and apply that knowledge to making a
meaningful logo. The more the robot makes logos, the
better his quality of work becomes. The process of
trial and error is a vital part of becoming an expert
graphic designer.
This robot is capable
of not only making logos for a technology companies,
but it can make logos from any company. It can follow
any instructions a client might have in terms of how
their logo is designed.
