This video shows a
robot using Microsoft Paint to modify an image based
on 3 instructions. There are no sound in the video
because i wanted to show the viewers what the robot
is thinking while he's controlling Paint to modify
images.
The robot isn't
familiar with Microsoft's Paint program. However, he
has extensive knowledge about photo software. Most
photo software are very similar in the way they work.
If the robot knows how to operate one photo software,
then most likely he can operating "any" photo
software.
In the video, the
robot is using general knowledge about Microsoft
products. He knows most of the options in the menu
bar, such as file, view, and edit. He has an
understanding of how to save a file or to view tool
bars, etc.
Most Photo software
are very similar in how they work and their functions
are standardized. However, each photo software is
different in the way they are presented to the user.
In order for the robot to understand a new software,
he has to first analyze aspects of the software. By
using logic and common sense, the robot might be able
to understand unfamiliar software. Another way is to
read books on the new software.
The most important
point about this video is the robot's ability to use
general knowledge on photo software and apply it to a
new photo software (Paint). The robot was given 3
instructions to modify image1 using Paint. In order
to accomplish these 3 tasks, he has to first
understand how Paint works.
