This video shows a robot working in a store to process orders from customers. There are no sound in this video because I wanted to show the viewers what the robot is thinking while taking orders from a customer. The typed text are the internal thoughts of the robot and not text instructions for the viewers.

Working in a supermarket or store doesn't require a lot of intelligence. However, the clerk has to follow orders and standard procedures from the company. Everyday, these orders and procedures changes. For example, there might be a special on can goods one day and the next day the special is gone. Or there is a company policy that states, no pets are allowed in the store. The robot clerk has to remember all these rules and follow them.

Sometimes there might be conflicts in rules and that is where logic and common sense comes in. The robot uses logic to solve interruptions. For example, if it's pouring rain outside and a customer comes in with a dog, the robot should allow the dog to come inside because it's pouring rain outside.

Also, clerks are told what to do at given times. The most important job is to process orders from customers. When there are no customers, the clerks have other jobs they have to complete before the end of the day. For example, the manager might tell them to take out the trash or restack the shelves or clean the floors when there are no customers.

And these side jobs might be different from day to day. The robot's responsibilities is to listen to the commands from a manager or to use common sense to discover what the manager wants the robot to do. The internal dialog in the robot's conscious basically determines its future actions.
