This video shows how a robot makes decisions when shopping in a super market. The robot was given instructions to go to the super market and buy a can of chili. He was given 5 dollars.

Human beings make decisions based on a debate in his mind. The voice in your head is debating with each other to make decisions. I call this voice, the human conscious. The human conscious is known as an entity that is alive, aware of the environment, and thinking. It has the ability to: provide common sense knowledge, give instructions, identify objects, provide meaning to language, do tasks, solve interruptions of tasks, do multiple tasks, give information about objects, extract memory data, search for data in memory or compare objects.

During the decision making process, the robot's conscious is debating which can of chili to buy. First the robot uses a strategy, which is to use the process of elimination. This strategy was taught to the robot by a teacher to make decisions on item selection. Next, the robot's brain is generating observation facts, commenting on items, asking questions, answering questions, comparing items, comparing prices, generating logic and so forth. The debate that is going on in the robot's conscious is like a team of people who are talking, debating, and making decisions.

After a short period of time, the robot makes a decision. There are 4 cans of chili to choose from and he selects only one.

The knowledge to make decisions is based on teachers in school and through experience. Teachers teach students to make all kinds decisions -- from selecting a movie to watch, to buying items in a store, or to decide what to wear to a party.

The robot can be given any buying instructions and he will still be able to fulfill the task. The reason why is because the robot has a universal pathway in his brain to select and buy items in a super market.
